Russell & Glenys Monk Purchased Café Allure in October 2003, Being Lygon Street Café Lovers we planned to go with the metro style food coffee & atmosphere using our knowledge of city café strips for ideas for our menu, adding loads of our magnificent local wine, fruit, nuts, olives, olive oil, prime beef & lamb
Russell is Melbourne trained Chef with 25 years in the game & Wife Glenys also with 20 years in café business helps with the training of their three daughters Krystal qualified chef, Jo-Anna certificate 4 hospitality, & Samantha qualified chef, all working together to keep an eye on the constant changing wants and needs of our regular customers & visitors alike
Glenys & Jo-Anna look after our large range of drinks, smoothies, milk shakes, fresh squeezed juice, frappe’s, well stocked bar with mixed drinks, beers and a good selection of local wine and Griffith’s coffee for the best cappuccino, afagatto, latte or macchiato.
Krystal is kept busy in the kitchen with baking a large range of cakes, biscuits & slices, while Samantha & Russell are kept busy with the meals.
Café Allure is open 6 days a week for breakfast & lunch and will open evenings for larger bookings The dining room seats 35 the bar seats 20, alfresco dinning with umbrellas on the side walk seats 20, the kitchen is open all day for meals,
The Menu includes the best of all cultures with some good English breakfast, Italian foccacia, pizza, pasta, bruchscetta, and antipasto. Thai salads & stir-fry also steak, fish, burgers, wraps, nachos & children’s meals, we also run daily blackboard special & picnic hampers specialty platter catering is available for any occasion
